Position Overview:
The Logistics Coordinator (Customer Operations) is a high-visibility, operations-driven role responsible for managing freight orders from start to finish. This is not a traditional call center customer service position; it is heavily operational and administrative in nature, requiring close collaboration with Dispatch, Brokerage, and drivers across multiple fleet types. The Logistics Coordinator (Customer Operations) provides exposure to all aspects of transportation operations, including freight coordination, shipment tracking, customer communication, and problem-solving in real time. Responsibilities of the Logistics Coordinator (Customer Operations):
  • Serve as primary customer service contact for freight customers, proactively managing inquiries, providing shipment updates, and resolving issues with urgency and professionalism.
  • Manage end-to-end freight coordination in the TMS, ensuring accurate order entry, tracking, documentation, and final delivery confirmation.
  • Collaborate closely with Dispatch, Brokerage, and drivers to ensure timely execution, coverage support, and smooth shipment movement.
  • Communicate real-time shipment status and requirements to internal teams and customers while supporting operational and administrative functions beyond traditional customer service.
Required Experience/Skills for the Logistics Coordinator (Customer Operations):
  • 1 - 3 years of experience in logistics, trucking, transportation, dispatch, customer service, or related operations.
  • Strong understanding of transportation workflows with the ability to manage freight from origin through final delivery.
  • Excellent communication, organization, multitasking, and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfortable balancing customer-facing and operational responsibilities while coordinating with drivers, dispatch teams, and customers.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Logistics Coordinator (Customer Operations):
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with TMS, GPS/ELD tools, or customer portals is preferred.
  • Prior experience in transportation, freight brokerage, dispatch, or logistics coordination.
  • Familiarity with multiple equipment types and freight handling requirements.
  • Exposure to operational logistics environments where roles are blended between service and operations.
Education Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
