Job Title: Logistics Coordinator
Job Description
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Logistics Coordinator to support growing warehouse and fulfillment operations. In this role, you ensure customer orders are accurately picked, packaged, labeled, and shipped while maintaining a clean, safe, and well-organized warehouse. You work hands-on in a fast-paced environment, operate warehouse equipment, and support shipping and logistics coordination. You also have opportunities for cross-training in soil testing operations and to contribute across multiple areas of the business within a small, collaborative team.
Responsibilities
- Package, label, and prepare products for shipment in accordance with company standards.
- Pick, pack, and fulfill customer orders accurately to ensure correct items and quantities are shipped.
- Palletize and secure shipments for freight transportation to prevent damage in transit.
- Maintain organized inventory and warehouse storage areas to support efficient order fulfillment.
- Assist with receiving incoming materials and inventory, including verifying quantities and organizing stock.
- Create and manage Bills of Lading (BOLs) for outgoing shipments.
- Schedule pickups and coordinate shipments with freight carriers to meet delivery timelines.
- Ensure all shipping documentation is completed accurately and filed appropriately.
- Track outgoing shipments and assist with logistics coordination to resolve delays or issues.
- Safely operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment in compliance with safety guidelines.
- Load and unload pallets, materials, and finished products from trucks and storage areas.
- Conduct routine equipment inspections and promptly report maintenance needs.
- Follow OSHA regulations and company safety procedures at all times while performing warehouse tasks.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment, including regular housekeeping tasks.
- Follow all safety protocols, procedures, and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
- Assist with inventory counts and stock organization to ensure accurate records and availability.
- Report safety concerns, damaged materials, or operational issues promptly to leadership.
- Participate in training related to soil testing operations to build cross-functional capability.
- Provide support to the soil testing team when needed, based on business priorities.
- Assist with additional operational duties as business needs evolve, including basic repair and maintenance tasks.
- Use basic handyman skills to perform tasks such as building racks, adjusting forklift forks, replacing parts on pumps, and addressing simple plumbing issues like fixing faucet leaks or selecting appropriate hose clamps.
Essential Skills
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in warehouse, fulfillment, logistics, or a closely related environment.
- Forklift certification and demonstrated ability to operate forklifts safely.
- Hands-on warehouse skills including picking, packing, inventory handling, and order fulfillment.
- Ability to use hand tools and perform basic repair and maintenance tasks.
- Practical handyman skills, including building simple structures such as racks, adjusting forklift forks, replacing parts on pumps, and performing basic plumbing fixes such as changing washers or selecting and installing hose clamps.
- Ability to lift and move materials weighing more than 50 pounds on a regular basis.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physically demanding labor throughout the workday.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in order fulfillment and shipping documentation.
- Commitment to following safety protocols and OSHA-related guidelines.
- Strong organizational skills to maintain orderly inventory and warehouse spaces.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Bilingual ability in Spanish and English.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and best practices in a warehouse environment.
- Experience with shipping documentation, freight coordination, or managing Bills of Lading.
- Experience working with logistics, fulfillment, or inventory systems.
- Comfort working in a small team environment where you may wear multiple hats and support various operational functions.
- Interest in learning and supporting soil testing operations through cross-training.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot basic equipment and facility issues.
Work Environment
This role operates in a combined warehouse and office environment, with standard hours of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. You spend most of the day on your feet in the warehouse, performing physical tasks such as lifting, moving, and organizing materials, as well as operating forklifts and other warehouse equipment. The environment emphasizes safety, organization, and adherence to OSHA-related standards, including consistent use of required personal protective equipment (PPE). You work closely with a small team of approximately a dozen employees, offering a collaborative atmosphere with significant opportunity for growth and cross-training. The company provides a setting where you can take on varied responsibilities, contribute to continuous improvement, and develop new skills. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $28.00/hr.
