This position assembles/tests parts, components, or systems for BCP machines according to the specified work orders. This position is for the Product Distribution Center (PDC) at the Athens, GA site.
In this role, you may be expected to:
Coordinating with Fabs and Assembly for Dealer kit parts and ensuring all material is available for Dealer kits to be packed and backup for Team lead when needed. Including, but not limited to, packaging orders, driving Fork Truck, picking parts for orders, other duties as needed.
Use various tools provided in the work area to perform assigned duties
Use lifting devices to move heavy components of weights of more than 35 lbs.
Operate various models of construction equipment
Loads/ unloads Prime Product to and from transport carriers & containers
Follows documented procedures standard work, routings, and blueprints to perform safe and defect free tasks and adjustment of components and prime product.
All other work-related duties as assigned by leader
Basic Qualifications:
Must have manufacturing experience
Must have "Meets Expectations" or higher in last 2 performance evaluations (as applicable)
Physical Requirements (with or without reasonable accommodation):
Willing and able to operate heavy equipment
Willing and able to sit or stand for prolonged periods
Willing and able to perform repetitive operations
Willing and able to lift up to 35 lbs.
Willing and able to work in outdoor conditions (Majority of work (90%) is in outdoor conditions.)
Top Candidates will also have:
Heavy equipment machine operating equipment
Product Distribution Center (PDC) experience
Forklift experience
Logistics experience
Machine assembly experience
Intermediate proficiency (Basic skills/knowledge. Capable of functioning independently) using Standard Assembly tools (torque wrenches, pneumatic tools, etc.) and their applications.
Experience working with lean manufacturing principles such as following standard work, continuous improvement, eliminating process waste, and 5S
Intermediate level of proficiency (Basic skills/knowledge. Capable of functioning independently) working with Standard Operating Procedures or Standard Work
Basic computer skills such as operating a computer in a Windows based environment
Ability to read/write and interpret documents
Experience working in a team-based environment

Summary Pay Range:
$20.55 - $25.65
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
