Overview:

The Marine Sales Logistics Coordinator is responsible for supporting both office and warehouse operations to ensure the efficient movement, staging, and preparation of marine engines. This role manages engine inventory, coordinates engine staging, prepares shipments, and sets up engines for the Service Department to complete upfit work. The ideal candidate will have technical engine knowledge, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in both administrative and hands-on warehouse environments.

Responsibilities:
  • Oversight and active management of freight expenses through bidding and negotiating freight contracts for LTL, truck loads, small packages, and freight forwarders comparing services provided to the effect on the company’s bottom line.
  • Directing all aspects of logistics throughout our supply chain to ensure efficient and cost-effective supply chain operations.
  • Exercises independent judgment to ensure customer needs are met.
  • Employs creative problem solving to provide solutions to complex logistical situations.
  • Developing and managing all carrier partner relationships and freight contracts.
  • Providing supervision of two Drivers that will have a dotted line to this position, including scheduling, training, and workload management.
  • Providing guidance in the assessment of hiring, discipline, and termination of dotted line positions.
  • Routing all order shipments.
  • Preparing all documentation for domestic and international orders.
  • Communicating with customers about all shipping and receiving requirements/special shipping instruction/requests.
  • Communicating with appropriate department and team members to ensure entire team is in sync with production and shipment schedule.
  • Monitoring freight invoices and associated customer billings, working with accounting team to ensure proper invoicing and payments.
  • Shipping all orders in a timely manner after completion.
  • Timely resolution of freight damage issues to customer and company’s satisfaction.
  • Developing and implementing freight damage prevention strategies that will affect the company’s bottom line and customer relations while tracking results to show positive impacts.
  • Working with Suppliers and Supply Chain team members to ensure most economical and timely inbound freight shipments.
  • Maintain a strong, personal commitment to the safety culture.

Qualifications: 

  • High school diploma/general education degree (GED) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of 3 (three) years in industry related assignments is required.
  • Technical engine knowledge
  • Knowledge of the transportation policies and regulations regarding LTL and truck load shipments.
  • Fulfill all requirements of US and International customs regarding the physical shipment and paperwork.
