Logistics Coordinator
The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and managing the movement of goods, materials, and shipments to ensure timely, cost-effective, and accurate delivery. This role works closely with internal teams, carriers, and vendors to support daily logistics operations and maintain efficient supply chain flow. This is a Contract to Hire opportunity located near Schaumburg, IL.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments to ensure on-time delivery and compliance with customer and company requirements.
- Schedule and track shipments using transportation providers, freight forwarders, and carriers.
- Prepare and process shipping documentation for domestic and international shipments.
- Monitor shipment status, track and trace deliveries, and proactively resolve delays or issues.
- Communicate regularly with carriers, vendors, and internal stakeholders to provide shipment updates and resolve logistics issues.
- Ensure accurate data entry and maintenance of shipping and logistics records in ERP or transportation systems.
- Support inventory movement, warehouse operations, and transportation planning as needed.
- Review freight invoices, investigate discrepancies, and assist with freight claims when required.
- Analyze logistics data and performance metrics to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and applicable transportation regulations.
Qualifications
- Associate or Bachelors degree in logistics, supply chain management, business, or a related field preferred.
- 25 years of experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain coordination.
- Knowledge of domestic and/or international shipping processes and documentation.
- Experience working with ERP, TMS, or logistics software systems.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
