I Supply is a food distribution company that has immediate opening for a Logistics Driver.
Are you a safety-minded, professional CDL-A driver tired of over-the-road routes keeping you away from your family? We are currently interviewing and need dedicated overnight linehaul drivers to depart from the greater Dayton/Fairborn area, haul steady, no-touch freight, picking up Brokered Loads and delivering them to various Cold Storage Facilities to the following areas, Chicago, WI, NC, SC to name a few. We also have available a run to TX, departing on Monday and returning Thur/Fri with the Weekend Off.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Have thorough understanding and follow all DOT, HOS and company laws, rules and regulations.
- Maintain accurate company records and driving logs.
- Responsible for direct interaction with load brokers.
- Safely operate straight truck or tractor-trailer on assigned route.
- Maintain refer controls and monitor temperatures in freezer, cooler and dry compartments of the trailer.
- Maintain a high level of customer service.
- Communicate quickly, clearly and precisely on all customer service issues between I Supply and our clients.
- Complete all necessary forms legibly and on a timely basis.
- Collect on deliveries for selected accounts.
- Drivers must be available for overnight routes (routes will range from 14 - 36 hours long). Some routes require weekend and holiday work.
- Deliver all scheduled loads in a timely manner.
- Have good sense of time management.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Experience and Qualifications:
- High School diploma preferred or GED accepted. Two to four years' experience driving a straight or refrigerated tractor trailer truck.
- Ability to read and complete various forms and records as required.
- Drivers must be able to conduct themselves in an appropriate business manner at all times under all conditions with customers, general public and co-workers.
- Class A Commercial Drivers License
- OTR experience is preferred.
Physical Qualifications:
- Drive safely in all kinds of weather and traffic conditions.
- Exposure to warehouse environment with noise, dust, odors and fluctuating temperatures.
- Frequently required to sit, stand, speak and hear.
- Drive under DOT
- Be able to physically maneuver in and out of a tractor vehicle without assistance.
