Position Summary
The Logistics Driver / Factory Assistant supports the daily operation of Nicoletto's production facility through safe and timely deliveries, accurate order fulfillment, careful inventory handling, warehouse organization, and general factory assistance. This role requires a punctual, dependable, and detail-oriented team member who communicates clearly, protects company products and property, and promptly reports all discrepancies or operational concerns to the Director of Operations.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Delivery & Transportation
- Safely operate company vehicles to transport products to restaurant locations, wholesale customers, shipping carriers, and other assigned destinations.
- Complete scheduled wholesale deliveries on Mondays and Thursdays while following assigned routes and delivery windows.
- Load, secure, transport, and unload products safely and efficiently without damaging inventory.
- Verify products and quantities against delivery documents before leaving the facility and again at the delivery location when required.
- Maintain accurate delivery paperwork and obtain signatures, receipts, or other documentation when required.
- Perform basic pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and promptly report maintenance needs, damage, safety concerns, or vehicle issues to the Director of Operations.
- Immediately report delivery discrepancies, damaged products, rejected items, delays, customer concerns, or route problems to the Director of Operations.
- Operate company vehicles in a safe, lawful, and professional manner.
Warehouse & Inventory
- Load and unload incoming and outgoing trucks safely, efficiently, and within expected timeframes.
- Inspect incoming products and compare quantities and condition against packing slips, purchase documents, or receiving records.
- Immediately report shortages, overages, damaged goods, missing products, labeling concerns, temperature concerns, or other receiving discrepancies to the Director of Operations.
- Organize and stock products in the warehouse and walk-in cooler using the First-In, First-Out (FIFO) inventory method.
- Confirm that older inventory is positioned for use before newer inventory and that products are correctly labeled, dated, and stored.
- Maintain organized and accessible storage locations to support accurate picking and safe movement through the facility.
- Assist with cycle counts and physical inventory counts as assigned.
- Promptly report inventory count differences or unexplained product movement to the Director of Operations.
Order Fulfillment & Shipping
- Accurately pick, verify, pack, label, and stage orders for Nicoletto's restaurant locations.
- Prepare FedEx and UPS orders according to company packaging, labeling, documentation, and carrier requirements.
- Verify item descriptions, quantities, lot or date information when applicable, shipping addresses, and special instructions before an order leaves the facility.
- Package products securely to protect quality and prevent damage during transportation.
- Immediately notify the Director of Operations of missing products, inventory shortages, substitutions, order discrepancies, quality concerns, or shipping issues before the order is released.
- Maintain an orderly staging area so completed and incomplete orders are clearly separated.
Factory & Operations Support
- Assist production and operations staff with daily tasks as directed by the Director of Operations.
- Move ingredients, finished goods, packaging, supplies, or equipment safely within the facility.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in warehouse, loading, shipping, walk-in, vehicle, and assigned production areas.
- Follow all sanitation, food-safety, allergen-control, temperature-control, and workplace-safety procedures.
- Support other departments during high-volume periods, special projects, inventory activities, or operational needs.
- Report unsafe conditions, damaged equipment, spills, contamination concerns, or other operational risks immediately to the Director of Operations.
Communication & Discrepancy Reporting
Open and prompt communication is a required part of this position. Any inventory discrepancy, damaged or missing product, inaccurate order, shipment issue, delivery delay, customer concern, vehicle problem, equipment malfunction, safety concern, food-quality concern, or other operational issue must be reported immediately to the Director of Operations. Employees must report concerns as soon as they are identified and must not conceal, ignore, or independently resolve a significant discrepancy without management awareness. Prompt reporting supports inventory accuracy, product quality, safety, and customer service.
Required Qualifications
- Valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record.
- Reliable attendance and excellent punctuality.

Physical & Work Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds repeatedly during the workday.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, twist, push, pull, climb, and perform physical work for extended periods.
- Ability to safely load and unload products from trucks and delivery vehicles.
- Ability to work in refrigerated walk-in areas and in changing indoor or outdoor temperatures.
- Ability to operate pallet jacks, carts, dollies, or similar material-handling equipment after appropriate training.
- Availability to complete wholesale delivery responsibilities on Mondays and Thursdays and to work other scheduled hours as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in warehouse operations, logistics, delivery driving, food production, manufacturing, or order fulfillment.
- Experience using FIFO inventory rotation.
- Experience preparing FedEx or UPS shipments.
- Experience operating pallet jacks or other warehouse equipment.
- Familiarity with food-safety and sanitation practices.
