Logistics Engineer (Bilingual English & Chinese)

Job Summary:

Manage end-to end logistics operations for the Mexico region. Coordinate port clearance, inland transportation, warehouse collaboration and customer delivery. Oversee freight forwarders, carriers and warehouse vendors, resolve logistics exceptions, manage documentation and cost control, ensure delivery, continuously optimize logistics solutions and reduce transportation & warehousing costs.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Develop transportation plans, arrange capacity and track shipments from Mexican ports to customer facilities to meet on-time and delivery requirements.

2. Identify, document and close out logistics exceptions. Manage carriers, freight forwarders and local warehouse providers, and conduct regular vendor performance reviews.

3. Verify and reconcile logistics invoices, upload invoices into system, maintain logistics cost ledgers and control logistics expenses.

4. Collaborate with internal production, warehouse and sales teams as well as local Mexico customers, share delivery updates and respond to customer logistics inquiries.

5. Collect logistics data, track KPIs including transit time, damage rate and delay rate, identify process gaps and propose logistics improvement initiatives.

6. Develop logistics contingency plans to mitigate disruptions such as port congestion, capacity shortage and road delays.

7. Comply with local Mexican logistics and customs regulations to avoid cross-border compliance risks.

Requirements:

1. Fluent in Chinese and English for business communication. Spanish proficiency is a strong plus.

2. Minimum 3 years of working experience in international logistics and cross-border supply chain. Familiarity with Mexico local transportation, port and customs clearance is preferred.

3. Experience managing freight forwarders and transport vendors; familiar with import/export documentation and freight reconciliation.

4. Strong cross-cultural communication, problem solving skills, data awareness and cost control mindset.

5. Proficient in MS Office; prior experience with ERP/SAP systems is preferred.
