Logistics Inventory Control Specialist
Job Summary
The Logistics Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for overseeing the efficient management, tracking, and verification of inventory levels within a warehouse, distribution center, or supply chain operation. This role ensures that inventory is correctly maintained, discrepancies are addressed promptly, and processes are improved for optimal stock accuracy and inventory flow. The ideal candidate will contribute to the smooth operation of logistics and supply chain functions, collaborate with relevant teams, and uphold quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and maintain accurate inventory records using computerized systems.
- Organize and execute regular inventory audits and cycle counts.
- Investigate and resolve inventory variances and discrepancies.
- Coordinate with warehouse staff, procurement, and logistics teams to ensure seamless inventory flow.
- Implement and optimize inventory control procedures and policies.
- Prepare inventory reports and provide actionable insights to management.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and organizational guidelines regarding inventory management.
- Assist with receiving, storage, shipping, and distribution activities as needed.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or relevant certification in logistics, supply chain, or related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, or logistics.
- Proficiency with inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lift and move items safely, as required by warehouse procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
- Universal in tagging inventory control/valve tags etc.
- Certification such as Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) or similar.
- Knowledge of quality assurance practices and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Experience in a fast-paced, high-volume logistics environment.
