About the job

A problem isn’t truly solved until it’s solved for all. That’s why Googlers build products that help create opportunities for everyone, whether down the street or across the globe. As a Program Manager at Google, you’ll lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish — working with stakeholders to plan requirements, manage project schedules, identify risks, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. Your projects will often span offices, time zones, and hemispheres. It's your job to coordinate the players and keep them up to date on progress and deadlines.

In this role, you will be the leader of how Google optimizes logistics processes while incorporating current industry standards and best practices. You will be responsible for process improvement recommendations, change management, standardization of user documentation, creating processes that drive action and interacting with all partner teams. You will lead new project initiatives for the Americas server operations logistics with a duration of three months to two years, create Business Requirements Documents (BRD), work with key stakeholders, drive innovation, understand operational impacts and create presentations/documents for the leadership team.

Behind everything our users see online is the architecture built by the Technical Infrastructure team to keep it running. From developing and maintaining our data centers to building the next generation of Google platforms, we make Google's product portfolio possible. We're proud to be our engineers' engineers and love voiding warranties by taking things apart so we can rebuild them. We keep our networks up and running, ensuring our users have the best and fastest experience possible.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. US: $136000 - $197000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + bonus + equity + benefitsLearn more about benefits at Google.

Responsibilities

  • Own the day-to-day logistics operations management of multiple data centers or warehouse locations.
  • Create, lead, and support cross-functional company initiatives/projects. Manage Third Party Logistics (3PL) partners with associates on their teams dedicated to our account.
  • Manage and monitor metrics for key performance indicators (KPIs), vendor performance scorecards, and development of business cases to support logistics process changes and/or improvements. Drive alignment and prioritization of initiatives in a fast-paced environment with many interdependencies.
  • Manage quarterly budgets, invoice control, capital improvement projects within your locations and relationships with multiple internal customers at data centers.
  • Recognize improvement opportunities to the cost and/or quality of services to be provided. Be proactive in turning these thoughts into a documented business case, present the business case to your peers and management for approval, and provide ongoing project management.
