Position Overview
Lingo Staffing is seeking a detail-oriented Operations Specialist to support North American transportation and logistics operations for one of our clients in North Chesterfield, VA. This role focuses on tracking time-sensitive shipments, maintaining service levels, and providing accurate updates to ensure exceptional customer service in a fast-paced logistics environment.
This position is ideal for candidates who are organized, dependable, and comfortable managing multiple priorities while working non-traditional hours.
Key Responsibilities
- Track, trace, and monitor shipments; update shipment status with accurate and complete documentation
- Perform clerical and administrative functions in support of transportation operations
- Process routine customer information related to transportation, billing, and collections
- Monitor web portals, fax, and voicemail for service provider updates
- Maintain accurate data for assigned customers, markets, products, and operational processes
- Assist coordinators, supervisors, and managers with daily operational needs
- Communicate shipment issues or service risks promptly to supervisory staff
- Confirm carrier charges and ensure billing accuracy
- Identify and apply appropriate special and accessorial charges
- Complete additional tasks supporting operations, sales, contracts, and billing
- Maintain regular, reliable attendance
- Follow all required security, safety, and compliance procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications & Skills

- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office and web-based applications
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Effective communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain steady performance under pressure
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret procedures and business documents
- Capability to prepare routine reports and standard business correspondence
- Problem-solving skills using established operational procedures
- Must be eligible to work in the United States (no sponsorship available)
Education & Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- 02 years of relevant work experience required
- 13 years of experience in transportation, logistics, or freight forwarding preferred
- Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
