    Logistics Planner

    Job Description

    Ensure effective coordination (including maximizing service and cost performance) of inbound and outbound freight movements, including shuttle service activities for all customer orders and manufactured inventory between the carrier and consignment locations.

    • Build and validate (cost, service) daily load plan through EFMS, Topex, or TMS system or Red PrairieRoute interactive, expedite requests and ensure all principal request carrier selections are honored

    • Ensure carrier receipt of daily load tenders via 204, fax, or TMS equip

    • Coordinate appointment acquisition to ensure adherence to customer delivery requirements

    • Communicate frequently with internal (DHL Supply Chain transportation, customer support, operations) and external customers (carriers, client transportation, client Customer Service Organizations) to ensure consistency in direction and expectations

    • Coordinate carrier pickup times, and provide daily shipment plan to distribution center

    • Identify and execute continuous improvement opportunities that improves financial performance and service levels, enhancing value proposition for internal and external customers

    • Identify compliance issues and participate in metric feedback process.Propose possible remedies / action plans to Operations supervisor

    • Yard and shuttle service supervision.

    Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities

    Required Skills & Qualifications

    International Logistics Expertise
    Deep knowledge of global transportation modes (air, ocean, ground, intermodal)
    Experience managing complex international supply chains, including US, Mexico, and Canada corridors
    Project Management & Leadership
    Proven ability to lead large-scale, cross-functional logistics or supply chain projects
    Experience managing multiple stakeholders across regions, functions, and leadership levels
    Strong planning, execution, and delivery skills with a focus on timelines, cost, and quality
    Systems & Technical Proficiency
    Advanced experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS), preferably OTM
    Strong understanding of rate management, billing tools, and freight audit processes
    Proficiency in data analysis tools (Excel required; Power BI/Tableau a plus)
    Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills
    Ability to analyze complex data sets and identify root causes of operational issues
    Strong decision-making skills in fast-paced, high-pressure environments
    Financial & Cost Management Acumen
    Understanding of transportation cost structures, accruals, and billing processes
    Ability to identify cost savings opportunities and drive financial performance improvements
    Communication & Stakeholder Management
    Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    Ability to present to senior leadership and customers with clarity and confidence
    Process Improvement & Continuous Improvement
    Demonstrated ability to standardize processes and implement scalable solutions
    Organizational & Execution Skills
    Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
    Highly organized with a structured, proactive approach to problem-solving and execution
    Education & Experience

    Bachelor's degree in supply chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field preferred
    Equivalent experience will be considered in lieu of a degree, including:
    5+ years of experience in international logistics or transportation planning
    2+ years of experience leading projects or initiatives at a regional or global level preferred
