We are seeking a motivated and results-driven Freight Broker to manage transportation logistics between shippers and carriers. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator who can build relationships, negotiate rates, coordinate shipments, and provide excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain relationships with shippers and freight carriers
Source and negotiate competitive transportation rates
Book and coordinate freight shipments from pickup through delivery
Match available loads with qualified and reliable carriers
Communicate shipment details, schedules, and updates to customers and carriers
Track shipments and proactively resolve delays or service issues
Maintain accurate records of shipments, rates, and customer information
Negotiate pricing while protecting company margins
Generate new business and identify opportunities to grow the customer base
Ensure all transportation activities comply with applicable company and industry requirements
Qualifications
Previous freight brokerage, transportation, logistics, or sales experience preferred
Strong negotiation and communication skills
Excellent customer service and relationship-building abilities
Ability to work independently and manage multiple shipments simultaneously
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Comfortable working with transportation management systems (TMS) and CRM software
Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
High school diploma or equivalent required; additional logistics education is a plus
