Position: Logistics Specialist
Pay: $21-$24/hr.
Location: Getzville, NY
Schedule: Monday- Friday 8:00am- 3:30pm

Your Impact as a Logistics Specialist
The Logistics Specialist will perform a variety of duties across multiple sites including driving individuals, deliveries of food and mail, and Fleet oversight and maintenance.
Assist with fleet coordination, including driving vans to required appointments
- Coordinates DOT inspections, preventative maintenance and oil changes, vehicle repairs, scheduling, records, and the overall management and readiness of the organization's vehicle fleet.
Food and Mail Pick-Up/Delivery
- Picks up and delivers student meals and food supplies from designated locations to assigned program sites each morning, as needed.
- Ensures that food is transported safely and delivered in a timely manner to the appropriate locations.
- Sorts and delivers incoming and interoffice mail to multiple agency locations daily.
- Ensures that mail and other deliveries are distributed accurately and in a timely manner to the appropriate departments or staff.
- Maintains confidentiality and exercises appropriate care when handling sensitive or confidential correspondence.
Serve as Respite/Day Hab driver as needed
- Provides coverage for Respite or Day Habilitation transportation needs based on staffing, program schedules, or operational needs.
- Provides safe, reliable, and timely transportation while following all agency, vehicle safety, and applicable transportation requirements.
- Assists individuals with entering and exiting vehicles and ensures appropriate use of seat belts, mobility equipment, and other safety supports as needed.
- Maintains appropriate supervision and professional interaction with individuals during transportation and reports on any safety, behavioral, or transportation concerns to the appropriate supervisor.

- Demonstrates punctuality and good attendance
- Follows the procedures for both Summit Academy and The Summit Center regarding attendance, punctuality, call-ins, and the appropriate use of PTO as outlined in The Summit Center Handbook
Perform any other duties as requested by your supervisor
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Experience coordinating or managing vehicle maintenance, including scheduling inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs, preferred
- A minimum of two years of experience safely transporting or driving individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Etc.: Valid NYS Driver's License in good standing. CPR, First Aide, and other applicable state mandated training may be required. Must be cleared through NYS OPWDD criminal background check unit and NYS DMV LENS program prior to first day of employment.
