Position Summary:
Leidos is seeking an experienced Logistics Specialist to provide inventory and sustainment support for government and defense programs operating within secure and mission-critical environments. The selected candidate will support logistics planning, inventory management, supply chain coordination, transportation activities, asset accountability, and operational sustainment efforts in support of program objectives and customer mission requirements.
This position requires strong organizational, analytical, and operational coordination skills to support logistics operations across multiple stakeholders, facilities, and operational sites. The ideal candidate will possess experience supporting government or defense logistics operations, managing sensitive equipment and materials, and coordinating sustainment activities within classified environments.
The Logistics Specialist Support position is responsible for supporting system fault analysis, life cycle maintenance, and integrated product support (IPS) activities for major systems and programs. This role coordinates and manages the flow of goods, services, materials, and information from origin through customer delivery to ensure operational readiness and customer satisfaction. This position will report to the Lead Logistics Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support supply chain coordination and sustainment activities for government and defense programs.
- Manage inventory control, asset accountability, material tracking, and equipment distribution activities across operational environments.
- Coordinate shipping, receiving, transportation, warehousing, and property management functions in accordance with program requirements.
- Maintain logistics records, databases, tracking systems, and documentation to ensure accuracy, accountability, and audit readiness.
- Support procurement coordination, material forecasting, and lifecycle sustainment planning activities.
- Coordinate with program management, engineering, operations, security, and subcontractor personnel to support mission requirements and operational readiness.
- Conduct inventory audits, equipment inspections, and reconciliation activities to ensure compliance with logistics and property management procedures.
- Prepare logistics reports, status updates, metrics, and briefings for program leadership and government customers.
- Ensure compliance with applicable federal, DoD, security, transportation, and organizational logistics policies and procedures.
- Support contingency operations, deployment activities, and operational logistics requirements as needed.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree with 4+ years of prior relevant experience or Master's degree with 2+ years of prior relevant experience; additional experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
- Experience supporting logistics, supply chain, inventory management, or sustainment operations within government or defense environments.
- Knowledge of logistics management principles, asset accountability, inventory control systems, and transportation coordination processes.
- Strong organizational, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Active Secret security clearance required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting DoD, Intelligence Community, or classified operational programs.
- Familiarity with government property management systems, logistics databases, and ERP platforms such as SAP, DPAS, or similar systems.
- Experience supporting deployment operations, field logistics, or contingency sustainment activities.
- Knowledge of federal acquisition, shipping, hazardous material handling, and transportation compliance requirements.
- Professional certifications such as Certified Professional Logistician (CPL), Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), PMP, or related certifications.
