Logistics Specialist

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

• Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments, including scheduling carriers and tracking deliveries
• Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure material availability and accuracy
• Maintain accurate shipping, receiving, and inventory records in internal systems
• Work closely with production, purchasing, and warehouse teams to support operational needs
• Resolve shipping discrepancies, delays, or damages in a timely manner
• Analyze logistics data to identify inefficiencies and recommend process improvements
• Ensure compliance with DOT regulations, company policies, and safety requirements
• Communicate with vendors, suppliers, and carriers to ensure service expectations are met
• Prepare and review shipping documentation (BOLs, packing lists, invoices, etc.)
• Support cost control initiatives by evaluating freight rates and transportation methods
• All other duties assigned.

REQUIREMENTS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES)

• Strong understanding of supply chain and logistics processes
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook); ERP or WMS experience preferred
• Ability to analyze data and generate reports
• Knowledge of transportation regulations and compliance standards

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE (required levels)

• High school diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field preferred
• 2-4 years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or warehouse operations
• Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred
