Job Summary:
The LogisticsSpecialist (LS)supports24/7operationsandperforms operational,logistical support, and administrative tasksto support ground and air transportation.
The LogisticsSpecialist worksin conjunctionwith field staffandsite leadership,CommandCenter,corporatelogisticsdepartment, and stakeholderstocoordinatethe safe transport of minorsand/or familiesandstaff.He/she managesdaily operations for inventory, supplies, distribution,facilities,and transportationfor the site assigned.The Logistics Specialist conductsvehiclesafety,including regular preventative and correctivevehiclemaintenance, and ensuresdriversare authorized tooperatevehicles.
Essential Functions:
Followscompany and contractpolicies, procedures, and guidance.
Prepares, reviews, and coordinates the documentation,personal propertyand special accommodationsfor transportation of all minors and ensures all paperwork is providedfor proper transport for reunification or transfer to shelter.
Assistswith transfer of custody and property for small and/or large groups.
Keepsin constantcommunication withtransportteamsassumingcustody ofminorsand/or family units,to includechecking status of vehiclesinroute.
Informs Command CenterandSite leadershipof any transport cancellations.
Inventories, orders, and delivers meals, supplies,electronics,and/or clothing; prepares backpacks with essentials includingtabletand mobilephonefor trips.
Drives passengers to and from client sites and/or airports.
Installs/removes child car and booster seats based on age and height/weight, as.
Observes andassistswith UC and/or family unit orientation, answersquestions, and describesthe transport process.
Assistsin charterflights/busespreparations,to includereviewing documentation, inspecting bathrooms for cleanliness to ensure high standard of quality, and driving to flightline.
Cleans vehicles, sanitizes interiors, and ensures they are fueled and ready for ground trips.
Checksvehicles for contraband and ensure coolers and emergency kits are in vehicles.
Updates information in the company’s database systems(e.g., Canvas, Verizon Connect, Pantry, fleet system, etc.)and prepares transportation,equipment, inventory, and meal reports as well as Ad Hoc reports as.
Assistsintracking, andmonitoringlogisticsspecific training (e.g.,DOT, inventory, fleet, facilities,etc.) andassistswithlogisticsprojects as needed.
Assistsmanagement staff with cost benefit estimates as directed by supervisor.
Monitors and reportsDOT compliance,camera surveillanceandGPS tracking, driver IDs (e.g.,key fobs),andHours of Serviceinformationforcompliance purposes and elevates concerns to supervisor and Site Manager.
Follows company quality control and inspection plans and executesthecompany’s Fleet Managementprogram, includingPreventive Maintenance(PM), mileagetracking,registration, tolls, inspections, logs,etc.,as.
Tracks inventory and supplies; monitors availability of stock;coordinates with Logistics Supervisor and Site Manager on shortages.
Executesthe facility management program,and reports anysite repairsandbuilding wear and tearto Logistics Supervisor and Site Manager
Participates inlogisticssynchronization meetings asrequested.
Performs otherduties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Qualifications:
Possess an associate degree inan appropriate disciplinefrom an accredited college (a high school diploma with two or more years of relevant experience may be substituted for an associate degree) and,
Have at least two years of documented experience in a field related to security, law, socialwork,detention,corrections,orsimilaroccupationalarea;certification,licensure, and credentials applicable to the professional accreditation of the position (a minimum of four years of experience is required when a high school diploma with two or more years of relevant experience is substituted for an associate degree).
Two or more years’ experience in business,logistics, transportation, supplychainora relatedfield.
Demonstrate basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance (e.g.,PM, inspections, safety checks, etc.,)as well as warehouse and inventory procedures (e.g.,FIFO concept).
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with employeesand withclients.
Bilingualin English and Spanish.
Ability to take technicaldirectionand feedback from various sources.
Committed to providing outstanding customer service and representation of MVM in a professional manner.
Requires the ability to prioritize work, meet stringent deadlines, balance multipletasksand work in a team environment.
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to pass a Government Security Background Investigation, including a favorable credit check, no criminal record, and no prior drug use.
Worka flexible schedule, including nights,weekends,and graveyard shifts.
Demonstrated computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel). Inventory and surveillance software experience preferred.
Possess a valid and current driver’s license withsafedrivingrecord.
Experience using tablets and smart phonetechnology.
Ability to deliver the highest quality of work under extreme pressure.

The applicantsselectedwill besubject to a government background investigation and maybe requiredto meet the following conditions of employment.
Security Requirements:
Ability to obtain/maintainSecurityClearance.
Favorable credit check for all cleared positions.
Successfully pass a background investigation, drug screen.
May beto pass or present specific requirements depending on the program (e.g.,DOT exam, vaccinations, CPR, flu shot).
Valid US passport bookor proof of beingin the process of obtainingone, depending on the program.
US Citizenship, Permanent Residency.
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
Consider the position at hand (i.e., lifting, pushing, and pulling will not be very necessary). Percentages should bemodifiedto reflect the necessity for each position.
Standing/Walking/Mobility: Musthavethe mobilityto attend meetings with other managers and employees.
Climbing/Stooping/Kneeling:0% - 10% of the time
