This role focuses on analyzing daily reports to identify and resolve potential material shortages, managing freight arrangements, and collaborating closely with supply chain, warehouse, and distribution teams to ensure timely receipt and movement of parts. The typical supplier base ranges from 60 to 85 suppliers, and the position is primarily desk-based with regular interaction across the broader procurement organization.

Responsibilities

+ Support up to four Logistics Planning Analysts in procuring materials from international and domestic suppliers to meet manufacturing build schedules.

+ Analyze daily reports to identify potential material shortages and take action to address and prevent production impacts.

+ Procure parts from internal sources by researching inventory levels and issuing purchase orders as needed.

+ Arrange freight with the internal logistics division and external carriers to ensure timely delivery of materials.

+ Communicate daily with Logistics Planning Analysts, warehouse personnel, and distribution technicians on the shop floor to understand and reconcile part availability issues.

+ Collaborate with other functions within the supply chain to resolve material constraints and support continuous material flow.

+ Assist procurement analysts with tracking supplier ship dates and monitoring domestic and international shipments.

+ Assist in ordering production material from other depots and facilities when suppliers cannot provide material, as determined by the procurement analyst.

+ Examine documents, materials, and products, and monitor work processes to assess completeness, accuracy, and conformance to standards and specifications.

+ Review documents such as production schedules, work orders, and staffing tables to determine personnel requirements, material requirements, and material priorities.

+ Record production data, including volume produced, consumption of raw materials, and quality control measures, to support accurate reporting and decision-making.

+ Requisition and maintain inventories of materials and supplies necessary to meet production demands and minimize shortages.

+ Interact regularly with assigned Logistics Planning Analysts, other support analysts, and the broader procurement team to coordinate activities and resolve issues.

+ Participate in meetings as needed to review material status, discuss issues, and align on priorities.

Essential Skills

+ Recent experience using Microsoft Excel to analyze data and manage reports.

+ Experience in logistics and trucking operations.

+ Recent experience working on a team and providing support to team members.

+ Experience with inventory-related activities such as tracking, replenishment, or inventory control.

+ Ability to analyze reports and identify potential material shortages or issues.

+ Strong communication skills to interact effectively with logistics planning analysts, warehouse personnel, distribution technicians, and supply chain colleagues.

+ Ability to manage multiple suppliers, typically ranging from 60 to 85, and coordinate related activities.

+ Attention to detail when examining documents, materials, and products for completeness, accuracy, and conformance to standards.

+ Ability to review production schedules, work orders, and staffing tables to determine material and personnel requirements.

+ Capability to record and maintain accurate production data, including volumes, raw material usage, and quality control measures.

+ Organizational skills to requisition and maintain inventories of materials and supplies required for production.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Recent graduates will be considered, particularly those with coursework or internships related to logistics, supply chain, or transportation.

+ Experience in logistics support, transportation, freight, or shipping and receiving environments.

+ Familiarity with working in a manufacturing or production setting.

+ Comfort working in a primarily office-based role with frequent collaboration across teams.

Work Environment

This is an in-office role, Monday through Friday, with work hours typically falling between 6:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Eastern Time. Team members must start by 7:00 a.m., with the option to start earlier. Approximately 95% of the work takes place at a desk, focused on analysis, communication, and coordination, while about 5% involves participating in meetings and engaging with colleagues across supply chain, warehouse, and procurement functions.
