Logistics Specialist

Kforce has a client that is seeking a Logistics Specialist in Plantation, FL.

Summary: The Inbound Logistics Specialist coordinates and monitors inbound freight to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery. This role works closely with drayage providers, receiving sites, customers, and internal teams to manage freight movement, troubleshoot issues, and minimize supply chain disruptions. This role is ideal for a resilient, self-motivated logistics professional with a deep understanding of port terminal operations and freight interchange processes.

Responsibilities:

• Freight Coordination: Track inbound shipments and ensure timely delivery between points of discharge (POD) and final destinations
• Vendor & Partner Management: Maintain strong relationships with ocean carriers, drayage providers, customs brokers, and terminal operators
• Troubleshooting & Issue Resolution: Address delays, accessorial charges, and equipment issues at all points of freight interchange
• Capacity Planning & Forecasting: Assess inbound drayage and warehouse receiving capacities
• Documentation & System Management: Reconcile inbound records, perform system checks, and manage freight cost calculations
• Reporting & Visibility: Update tracking systems and provide daily status reports to ensure shipment visibility
• Transmissions of documentation to custom brokers for customs clearance; Manage communication with carriers, brokers and customers
