About the Opportunity
A well-established plastics manufacturing facility — subsidiary of a global chemical industry leader — is adding a Logistics Specialist to its operations team in Ravenna, Ohio. This role owns the full order-to-delivery cycle, serving as the critical link between customers, internal production teams, warehouse partners, and transportation providers. What You'll Do
- Receive, enter, and maintain customer purchase orders in SAP across the full order-to-delivery cycle
- Coordinate shipment scheduling with transportation providers and 3PL partners; track shipments and communicate delivery updates proactively
- Monitor order status and serve as the primary communication point for customers and internal stakeholders including Sales, Production, Quality, and warehouse teams
- Verify inventory availability and coordinate product shipments to meet customer requirements
- Prepare and process shipping and logistics-related invoices; review transportation and vendor invoices for accuracy and approval
- Prepare export documentation for international shipments including commercial invoices, certificates of origin, and shipping instructions
- Resolve customer inquiries related to orders, deliveries, inventory availability, and billing
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to logistics and customer service processes
What You'll Need
- Minimum 3 years of experience in logistics, customer order management, transportation coordination, supply chain, or a related role
- Background in a manufacturing, distribution, or logistics environment — required
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously across internal departments and external partners
- SAP or comparable ERP system experience — strongly preferred
- Experience with international shipping and export documentation — preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field preferred; relevant experience considered in lieu of degree
- Forklift certification and/or Lean/Six Sigma knowledge a plus
