Our client, a leader in logistics and supply chain management, is seeking a Specialist, Logistics to join their team. As a Specialist, Logistics, you will be part of the Operations Department supporting the logistics team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong organizational skills, effective communication, and adaptability, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Specialist, Logistics

Location: Suffolk, VA

Pay Range: $18.00

Shift: 11:30AM - 8:30PM (Business operations are 6 days a week with 1 day off; flexibility required)

What's the Job?

  • Maintain customer profile information and enter loads from customer tenders into the Freight Optimizer system
  • Update account managers on problem loads and communicate actions taken; inform receivers and customers about load status
  • Monitor daily pick-ups and deliveries to ensure timely and damage-free arrivals
  • Take check calls from drivers, ensuring loads will deliver on time; validate all load data prior to marking loads delivered for accounting purposes
  • Investigate product overages, shortages, damages, and complete appropriate documentation

What's Needed?

  • At least 1 year of logistics experience
  • General knowledge of the transportation industry
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment
  • Effective communication skills with internal and external partners
