The Engineering Team at Pride Health / Russell Tobin is hiring Logistics/Supply Chain III for a world-class Industrial & Technology company with healthcare products near DeKalb, IL 60115, Hybrid, Rotating shift.
 
  • Title: Logistics/Supply Chain III
  • Duration: 12 Months assignment (Possible scope to extend depending on performance and/or budget)
  • Location: DeKalb, IL 60115, Hybrid, Rotating shift
  • Pay Rate Range: $55/hour - $60/hour depending on experience
 
Position Summary:
  • The Project Manager – Network Optimization is responsible for leading strategic supply chain and distribution network projects that improve service, cost, inventory, and operational efficiency across the enterprise.
  • This role manages complex initiatives including distribution center openings and closures, network redesign, inventory optimization, SKU rationalization, capacity planning, and facility transitions.
  • The successful candidate combines strong project management fundamentals with analytical problem-solving and Lean Six Sigma methodologies to deliver business transformation.
  • An Industrial Engineering background is highly desirable due to the analytical nature of the role.
 
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Lead strategic network optimization projects from planning through implementation, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with business objectives.
  • Manage distribution network initiatives, including:
  • Distribution center openings and closures
  • Network node optimization and consolidation
  • Facility transitions and operational cutovers
  • Inventory relocation and balancing
  • SKU rationalization and product migration  
  • Develop and manage project plans, schedules, budgets, resource plans, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams across Supply Chain, Operations, Logistics, Transportation, Planning, Procurement, IT, Finance, and Manufacturing.
  • Lead inventory transition planning to ensure continuity of customer service during network changes.
  • Support network design initiatives by evaluating facility capacity, inventory positioning, transportation flows, and service requirements.
  • Develop business cases, cost-benefit analyses, and executive presentations supporting network optimization investments.
  • Facilitate project governance meetings and provide regular status updates to leadership.
  • Apply Lean Six Sigma methodologies to improve supply chain processes and eliminate waste.
  • Establish project KPIs and ensure successful transition to operational ownership upon project completion.

  • Strong understanding of supply chain, distribution, logistics, and inventory management principles.
  • Experience leading complex cross-functional projects involving multiple business functions and external partners.
  • Knowledge of distribution network design, facility transitions, inventory optimization, and SKU deployment strategies.
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Experience with project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills with the ability to influence stakeholders across all levels of the organization.
  • Working knowledge of Lean Six Sigma tools, including process mapping, value stream mapping, root cause analysis, DMAIC, and continuous improvement.
  • Experience with ERP, Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), and Supply Chain Planning systems (SAP, SAP EWM, Blue Yonder, Manhattan, etc.) is preferred.
  • Experience with network modeling, transportation optimization, or inventory planning tools is a plus.
 
Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Mechanical Engineering, Business Analytics, Logistics, or related technical discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience managing supply chain, logistics, network optimization, or distribution projects.
 
Preferred:
  • Experience leading cross-functional initiatives involving inventory planning, facility transitions, or supply chain transformation.
  • Demonstrated experience applying project management methodologies to deliver strategic business initiatives.
  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering or supply chain engineering.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
  • Experience supporting distribution center startups, closures, or network redesign initiatives.
  • Knowledge of inventory optimization, transportation planning, capacity planning, and supply chain network modeling.
  • Experience with data visualization and analytics tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
