Job Title: Logistics Manager

Job Description

The Logistics Manager is responsible for overseeing daily transportation and vehicle logistics operations at a designated site. This role includes managing inventory, coordinating dispatch, building strong carrier relationships, and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction. The Logistics Manager aims to drive operational excellence and contribute to overall profitability through effective resource management and continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities



+ Oversee day-to-day site operations, ensuring efficient transportation, dispatch, and inventory management.


+ Manage and develop dispatchers, supervisors, and operations personnel to maintain a high-performing team.


+ Coordinate inbound and outbound freight movements, ensuring timely and accurate execution.


+ Maintain real-time inventory visibility by monitoring vehicle and order statuses and resolving discrepancies.


+ Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, providing updates and resolving service-related issues.


+ Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, carriers, vendors, and internal stakeholders.


+ Negotiate carrier pricing and transportation solutions to maximize service quality and cost efficiency.


+ Monitor KPIs and operational metrics, identifying opportunities to improve performance and profitability.


+ Ensure compliance with safety policies, transportation regulations, and company procedures.


+ Respond effectively to operational challenges, customer escalations, and emergency situations.


+ Drive process improvements through root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.


+ Manage site budgets, operational expenses, and financial performance objectives.


+ Collaborate with corporate leadership to communicate operational results, risks, and growth opportunities.


+ Coordinate vehicle staging, dispatch planning, and resource allocation to minimize delays and maximize throughput.


+ Track active and scheduled orders to proactively prevent bottlenecks and maintain service expectations.



Essential Skills



+ Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.


+ 3+ years of experience in logistics, transportation, dispatch, fleet operations, or supply chain management.


+ Previous supervisory or management experience within a fast-paced operational environment.


+ Experience managing carriers, dispatch operations, inventory, and customer service functions.


+ Proven ability to lead teams, manage multiple priorities, and drive operational results.


+ Strong understanding of transportation management systems (TMS), inventory platforms, and Microsoft Office.


+ Experience analyzing operational data, KPI reporting, and performance metrics.


+ Knowledge of transportation safety practices and regulatory compliance requirements.


+ Experience managing budgets, operational costs, and profitability targets.



Additional Skills & Qualifications



+ Automotive logistics, vehicle transportation, or fleet management experience is highly preferred.


+ Leadership and team development skills.


+ Proficiency in transportation and logistics operations management.


+ Expertise in carrier management and rate negotiation.


+ Proficient in inventory control and fleet coordination.

Work Environment

This is a fully onsite role with working hours from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Plymouth, MI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $85000.00/yr.

Direct, long term role, salary role, 2 weeks of PTO, extra week of personal time (prorated for the rest of the year), Med, Vision, and dental.

Workplace Type

This is a fully onsite position in Plymouth,MI.
