Overview

LOGISTICS TECHNICIAN | TIER II (MIELS):

Bowhead is seeking Logistics Technicians to support a customer in Stafford, VA. Support for the contract will consist of program management; logistics; asset management; engineering; customer service; research and development of new capabilities; test and evaluation; manpower, training, and personnel; new equipment fielding and training; financial management; information assurance; cybersecurity; and 24X7 enterprise services operations and sustainment.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and execute the fielding of Program of Record (POR) equipment to Marine Corps units. Review unit authorizations to ensure accurate alignment with equipment allocations and approved requirements.
  • Utilize systems such as Global Combat Support System–Marine Corps (GCSS-MC) and Defense Property Accounting System (DPAS) to manage accountable property records. Ensure data integrity through continuous monitoring, validation, and quality control reviews. Provide subject matter expertise in Accountable Property System of Record (APSR) processes.
  • Apply in-depth knowledge of DoD and Marine Corps property accountability regulations. Support audits, inspections, and physical inventories. Maintain and reconcile documentation including Consolidated Memorandums of Receipt (CMRs) and Custody Asset Reports (CARs). Coordinate inventory actions and ensure compliance across all accountable property processes.
  • Assist in the review and execution of Corrective Action Plan milestones. Conduct detailed analysis, provide actionable recommendations, and help obtain required test articles and documentation to support milestone completion and compliance objectives.
  • Identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements to logistics and property management processes. Assist in developing and implementing standardized procedures to enhance operational effectiveness.
  • Submit, track, and manage requests for strategic transportation of equipment and materials. Coordinate with higher headquarters, U.S. Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM), and adjacent services to ensure timely and accurate execution of movements.
  • Act as liaison with program offices and coordinate shipments through the Marine Corps Base Quantico Distribution Management Office (DMO). Ensure proper documentation and reporting of dimensional data, hazardous materials, and classified shipments in accordance with applicable regulations.
  • Manage the disposal of excess or unserviceable equipment by preparing required documentation, coordinating with authorized disposition entities, and ensuring compliance with DoD and Marine Corps regulations. Maintain accurate system records to ensure full accountability and audit readiness.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or five (5+) years of experience in logistics or supply chain management.
  • Applicable USMC software or hardware training and certifications aligned with technical requirements and IT environment.
  • Familiarity with USMC Program of Record (PoR) documentation for acquisitions and GCSS-MC equipment onboarding (“birthing”).
  • Experience with DoD and Marine Corps Systems Command (MCSC) policies and processes, including logistics, maintenance management, supply chain management, and job task analysis.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team of government and contractor stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and USMC logistics systems, including TFSMS, GCSS-MC, TDM Catalyst, TDM Publications, and TLCM-OST.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with analytical capabilities.
  • Preferred: Knowledge of the DoD acquisition lifecycle.
  • Preferred: Knowledge of Marine Corps logistics fundamentals.

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds
  • Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
  • Must be able to twist, bend, and squat periodically

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRED: Must currently hold a security clearance at the Top Secret/SCI level with Counter Intelligence Polygraph.  US Citizenship is a requirement for Top Secret clearance at this location.
