Position Overview
At Foundation Building Materials (FBM), the Logistics & Transportation Coordinator I serves as a central coordinator between FBM branches, purchasing teams, and logistics partners to ensure smooth and efficient transportation operations. Supporting all FBM locations, this role manages the flow of logistics information across multiple shipment modes. As a Logistics & Transportation Coordinator, you will be a key force behind the execution of smarter shipping decisions and stronger customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities and Qualifications:
Key Responsibilities
Cross-Functional Logistics Coordination
- Serve as the primary liaison and point of contact for FBM Logistics-related activities and shipment workflows
- Facilitate clear and consistent communication with Sales, Branch Operations, and Purchasing teams regarding shipment status, location tracking, and workflow updates
- Coordinate with incumbent 3PL and transportation providers regarding shipment information, capacity, and rates
- Partner with manufacturing suppliers to ensure pickup readiness and shipment accuracy
End-to-End Shipment Oversight
- Receive shipment requests from branches, sales personnel, and purchasing teams
- Ensure accurate and timely entry of all LTL and FTL shipments and quote requests into the Shipwell Transportation Management System (TMS)
- Provide shipment details and updates promptly to requestors and stakeholders
- Work directly with incumbent 3PL and transportation providers to secure shipping capacity
- Provide real-time shipment status updates using Shipwell
- Validate shipment creation data with purchasing and operations teams to ensure accuracy
Logistics Technology & Issue Resolution
- Provide first-level technical and operational support for LTL and truckload shipments
- Escalate second-level technical and operational issues to designated Logistics & Transportation team members
- Escalate complex, high-priority, or unresolved issues to the Director of Logistics
Transportation Strategy Alignment & Analytics
- Collaborate with Logistics & Transportation team members to ensure activities align with transportation strategy
- Ensure all shipment information is accurately entered into Shipwell to support future reporting and analytics
Additional Responsibilities & Miscellaneous
- Perform other duties as assigned to support Logistics, Transportation, and corporate objectives
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required
- Experience with web-based software applications required; transportation management system experience preferred
- Experience with FBM’s ERP system, CloudSuite, preferred but not required
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office required; Microsoft Outlook and Excel preferred
- Strong professional written communication skills
- Outstanding attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams including Purchasing, Logistics, and Sales
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with a variety of technology applications
- Proficiency in office productivity software including word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation applications
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt quickly to changing circumstances

The listed pay range reflects the expected base rate for this position. Within the range, individual pay may vary based on experience, qualifications, and work location within state. This is a full-time position with competitive pay and benefits.
