A value-oriented long/short equity hedge fund with approximately $200 million in assets under management is seeking an Investment Analyst to work directly alongside the Founder and Portfolio Manager.

The firm employs a flexible, fundamentals-driven investment approach, investing across sectors and market capitalizations with a long-term investment horizon. Unlike many larger platform environments, analysts are encouraged to pursue the best ideas regardless of sector, develop high-conviction views, and contribute directly to portfolio construction.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct deep fundamental research on prospective and existing investments.
• Build and maintain detailed financial models and valuation frameworks.
• Generate and present actionable long and short investment ideas.
• Perform channel checks, speak with industry participants, and develop differentiated investment insights.
• Monitor industry trends, competitive dynamics, and company-specific developments.
• Work directly with the Portfolio Manager on portfolio construction, position sizing, and risk assessment.
• Contribute to all aspects of the investment process from idea generation through portfolio monitoring.

Qualifications:

• 2-5 years of experience at a hedge fund, long-only asset manager, or leading sell-side equity research platform.
• Strong financial modeling, accounting, and valuation skills.
• Demonstrated passion for public market investing.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• High level of intellectual curiosity, humility, and integrity.
