We are currently seeking a highly dedicated, motivated, full-time guest teacher to serve the student community at Mill Valley Elementary School. A Wisconsin DPI certification to teach is preferred. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate a student-centered philosophy of education and a broad repertoire of instructional strategies, differentiation/personalized learning techniques, and literacy advocacy.
Candidates must understand the developmental stages of widely divergent children and implement developmentally responsive elementary-level programming; they must be skilled at proactively managing student behavior by fostering positive relationships based on mutual respect and by intervening as necessary to assist students toward the acquisition of self-discipline.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Candidates must demonstrate:
- Familiarity with Common Core and state standards in all relevant subject area disciplines;
- The ability to present lesson plans that are relevant, rigorous, differentiated, and integrate curriculum;
- Creativity, enthusiasm, and a high degree of energy;
- Effective listening skills to engage in professional discourse while striving for consensus;
- The ability to build and maintain strong, positive relationships with students, parents, colleagues, and administrators;
- Knowledge of the tenets of a professional learning community;
- The ability to analyze, synthesize, obtain, and use data to support and enhance student academic learning;
- Understand the use of technologies that can personalize learning for students and enhance critical thinking (i.e. Chromebooks, Google Apps);
- The ability to provide a safe, positive, and engaging learning environment for students;
- A lifelong learning commitment through credentials that reflect post-secondary training, conference attendance, and membership in professional and civic organizations
