Requirements, licenses, or skills needed:
- Massachusetts licensure preferred
Job description, main functions, and or product developed:
- Teaches the Massachusetts State Curriculum Frameworks to students utilizing the course of study adopted by the district and other appropriate learning activities.
- Develops units of instruction and lesson plans to deliver curriculum.
- Manages classroom discipline.
- Individualizes student instruction as needed.
- Collaborates with colleagues.
- Evaluates each student''s progress in both formative and summative manners.
- Enters classroom grades into ASPEN in a timely manner (within two weeks of receiving work from students).
- Offers one extra help day per week to last from 2:30 p.m.- 3:30 p.m.
- Attends faculty meetings and department meetings.
- Responds to all communication (email, phone, etc.) within 48 hours.
- Completes all school and district required paperwork.
- Actively participates in all school and district professional development activities.
- All other duties as assigned by the Assistant Principal of Academic Affairs and Principal-Assistant Superintendent.
