Job Title: 2nd Grade Teacher - Long Term Substitute

School: Drought School Location: Franksville, Wisconsin (On the corner of 7 Mile Road and Hwy 45) Position Type: Full-Time (1.0 FTE) Daily Rate: TBD

Class Size: Our current 2nd grade class has 9 students. School Hours: Instructional time with kids is 7:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.

This position will run from mid April through the remainder of the school year.

A Brief Position Overview:

Drought School is seeking a dynamic and innovative 2nd Grade Teacher to accommodate our growing school population. This position is a 1.0 FTE, and the successful candidate will be THE solo 2nd grade teacher. At Drought School, we believe in providing a supportive and collaborative environment where teachers not only educate but also actively contribute to the overall well-being of our school community. Every classroom is equipped with 2-3 brand new whiteboards, brand new Newline Series Q Interactive panels, and access to Chromebook and/or iPad devices for students at a 1:1 ratio. Drought School commits to offering three recesses per day for our students in 5K-4th, keeping kids active both on the playground and on our freshly professionally graded baseball field.

Foundational Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging and differentiated instruction to 4th-grade students. • Embrace technology to enhance the learning experience. • Think outside the box. • Inspire a love for learning. • Being willing to help with vital functions during the week, including possible recess duty and lunchroom duty.

Foster a positive, safe and inclusive classroom environment.

Collaborate with other teachers to develop and implement effective teaching strategies.

Expected Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Education or related field. • Wisconsin teaching certification. • Passion for creating a positive and interactive learning environment. • Strong organizational and communication skills. • Ability to work collaboratively in a close-knit team.

Preferred experience with Orton-Gillingham training and/or Special Education certification or background.
