    Description

    The Whitehall School District is seeking a caring, enthusiastic and qualified long-term substitute teacher for a third-grade classroom.

    This position will begin at the start of the 2026-2027 school year and continue through October 1, 2026.

    The successful candidate will provide a positive, structured and engaging learning environment while following established curriculum, classroom routines and instructional plans. The long-term substitute will work closely with grade-level teachers, support staff and administration to ensure continuity of instruction and support the academic, social and emotional needs of all students.     Responsibilities include:

    • Delivering daily instruction in all third-grade subject areas
    • Following district curriculum, lesson plans and classroom procedures
    • Providing engaging, hands-on learning opportunities that support Future-Ready skills
    • Assessing and monitoring student progress
    • Maintaining a safe, respectful and inclusive classroom environment
    • Communicating effectively with families, colleagues and administration
    • Collaborating with grade-level teachers and support staff
    • Providing appropriate accommodations and supports for individual student needs
    • Completing other duties associated with the regular classroom teaching assignment

    Qualifications:

    • Valid Wisconsin teaching license or substitute teaching license
    • Elementary education experience preferred
    • Strong classroom management and communication skills
    • Ability to build positive relationships with students, families and staff
    • Commitment to supporting the academic, personal and future-ready growth of every student
