    Description

    The Luxemburg-Casco School District seeks a long term substitute 5th Grade ELA Teacher at the Intermediate School from approximately November 16, 2026 through December 18, 2026. These dates are subject to change.

    We are looking for a teacher who believes all students can succeed in a global environment by ensuring excellence in both intellect and virtue. The most successful applicant will demonstrate a passion for teaching elementary aged students; be a lifelong learner; possess a desire to work in a team environment; excellent communication skills; and outstanding classroom management, including knowledge of restorative practices within a trauma sensitive environment.

    Required standard minimum qualification:

    Candidates must have a valid WI Department of Public Instruction license

    Special consideration will be given to the applicant with the following qualifications:

    Experience teaching elementary aged students

    Knowledge of or experience teaching English Language Arts, specifically Lucy Calkins Curriculum

    Knowledge of best practices in differentiating instruction

    Understands the RTI system

    Offers appropriate and engaging instruction that is student-centered

    Assesses student work to support growth

    Provides a safe and secure learning environment

    Has a growth mindset and the willingness to be a lifelong learner

    Participates in all required training, at both a school and district level.
