We are looking for a long term substitute to teach in our art classroom for the 26/27 school year.
The art teacher is responsible for the delivery of multi-grade-level curriculum and for differentiating instruction. Familiarity with standard-based education, project-based learning, and mastery of technology skills are required. The successful candidate will have the ability to work effectively with students, parents, colleagues and community members. Strong written and verbal communication skills are a must.
The elementary art instructor must be able to help develop and implement an interdisciplinary and experiential curriculum with a team of faculty, and be willing to explore a variety of pedagogical methods.
The art teacher must also have experience working with a large classroom as an "arts collective," helping to guide the learning community not only through individual projects, but collaborative projects as well. A strong background in art history is beneficial.
A bachelor''s degree and an appropriate Massachusetts teaching license are required; a master''s degree is preferred.
