Long-Term Substitute Cross Categorical Special Education Teacher (3rd Grade)

The School District of Lomira is seeking a highly motivated and student-centered Long-Term Substitute Cross Categorical Special Education Teacher to support students at the third-grade level at Lomira Elementary School.

This position is anticipated to begin on August 25, 2026, at the start of the 2026-27 school year, and is expected to continue for approximately 12-14 weeks.

Position Overview

The Long-Term Substitute Special Education Teacher will provide specialized instruction and support to students with disabilities in third grade. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with classroom teachers, related service providers, support staff, and families to ensure students receive high-quality instruction and services aligned with their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).

Essential Responsibilities

• Provide specially designed instruction to students with disabilities in accordance with IEP goals and objectives.
• Implement accommodations, modifications, and supplementary aids and services within general education and special education settings.
• Collaborate with grade-level teachers, paraprofessionals, specialists, and families to support student success.
• Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation related to IEP implementation.
• Participate in IEP meetings and other student support meetings as appropriate.
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
• Utilize evidence-based instructional and behavioral practices to support diverse learning needs.
• Communicate effectively with students, families, and staff members.

Qualifications

• Valid Wisconsin teaching license with appropriate Special Education certification preferred.
• Candidates eligible for substitute teaching licensure will also be considered.
• Knowledge of special education practices, instructional strategies, and behavioral supports.
• Strong collaboration, communication, and organizational skills.
• Commitment to meeting the academic, social, emotional, and behavioral needs of students with disabilities.

Compensation

Compensation will be provided in accordance with School District of Lomira long-term substitute pay guidelines.
