Dates of Assignment: September 8, 2026 - November 23, 2026
Location: Deerfield Elementary School
Schedule: Full-time (Monday - Friday)
Reports To: Principal and Director of Special Education
About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and collaborative Special Education Teacher to step into an elementary classroom for a fall long-term substitute assignment. In this role, you will ensure a seamless continuation of services, support, and advocacy for our exceptional students.
Whether leading small-group interventions, co-teaching, or managing individualized education programs (IEPs), your goal will be to foster a warm, inclusive, and structured environment where every child feels capable and valued.
Key Responsibilities
Instructional Delivery: Implement and adapt modified lesson plans to meet the diverse academic, social-emotional, and behavioral needs of students.
IEP Implementation: Ensure all accommodations, modifications, and goals outlined in student IEPs are met and documented consistently.
Collaboration: Partner closely with general education teachers, speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, and paraprofessionals to support student success.
Classroom Management: Maintain a positive, predictable, and supportive classroom environment
Progress Monitoring: Keep accurate records of student progress toward their IEP goals
