Position Title: Special Education Teacher Long-Term Substitute

SUMMARY:
The Special Education Teacher (LTS) instructs and assists students in mastering subject matter and skills while at the same time encouraging and supporting their positive academic and social growth. The role helps to develop and monitor Individualized Education Plans. To provide resource support in Learning Strategies resource classes to a caseload of approximately 12 students. To develop lesson plans and instruct a variety of courses for students with disabilities.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervises classrooms, students, and teacher aides.

Language Skills
Communicates clearly both in oral and written format with all constituents of the District 113 community. Effectively present information and respond to questions from constituency groups. Apply knowledge of current research and theory in a specific field. Establish and maintain effective and collaborative working relationships with students, staff and the school community. Perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.
