TITLE: LONG TERM SUBSTITUTE - Speech Therapist
This assignment starts September 4, 2026 through October 16, 2026.
The daily pay rate for this substitute position is $342.85 - $367.85 based on degree status.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Hold a New Jersey certificate Speech/Language Specialist N.J.A.C. 6:11-12:11.
B.S.; B.A. degree or higher from an accredited college or university.
Required criminal history background and proof of U.S. Citizenship or legal resident alien status
Approved student teaching in therapy with children who have speech disorders.
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Consults with school personnel by request or assignment relative to the development of a balanced program for oral communications, speech and language improvement.
Appropriate to the case in question evaluate, classify and develop an IEP to meet the individual needs of speech and language impaired children.
Delivers direct speech and language services as called for in activities described in 2 above.
Coordinates speech and language activities with other instructional activities as appropriate.
Provides information, to parents and families when appropriate regarding speech/language development.
Serves as a consultant to teachers and school staff members on topics concerning speech and language.
Keeps thorough on-going records for the individual student receiving school provided speech services.
Assumes primary responsibility for requisitioning and maintaining needed equipment and supplies.
Perform such other duties which are within the scope of employment and certification as assigned by the supervisor, in accordance with New Jersey State laws, State board of Education rules and regulations, Deptford Township Board of Education policies and contractual obligations.
SEMI eligible services are to be accurately entered in the online service documentation tool on a daily basis.
All direct services, including nursing services such as medication administration, submitted for reimbursement must be prescribed in the related services section of the student's IEP. The cover/signature page, related services section, and the evaluations and assessments prescribing the related service(s) must be maintained in an accurate and timely manner.
