Burlingame School District is seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated, and fully credentialed Long-Term Substitute 5th Grade Teacher to join our team at McKinley Elementary School. This full-time (1.0 FTE) assignment runs from October 19, 2026, through April 2, 2027. Key Duties & Responsibilities: Instruction & Planning: Plan, implement, and teach standards-based lessons utilizing the California State Content Standards and frameworks. Classroom Management: Establish efficient classroom routines and maintain positive standards of pupil behavior that keep the learning environment productive and safe. Assessment & Records: Assess student needs, track progress, maintain accurate student records (including attendance counts) utilizing district databases, and implement Response to Intervention (RtI) strategies. Collaboration & Communication: Collaborate actively with team members to meet pupil needs, establish common goals, and communicate effectively with parents via meetings and updates. Professional Expectations: Implement district policies, attend required school/district in-service and informational meetings, perform equitable non-classroom supervision as assigned, and strictly follow child abuse reporting processes.
