The Luxemburg-Casco School District seeks a long term substitute 6th Grade Science Teacher at the Intermediate School from approximately October 29th, 2026 through December 23rd, 2026. These dates are subject to change.

We are looking for a teacher who believes all students can succeed in a global environment by ensuring excellence in both intellect and virtue. The most successful applicant will demonstrate a passion for teaching elementary aged students; be a lifelong learner; possess a desire to work in a team environment; excellent communication skills; and outstanding classroom management, including knowledge of restorative practices within a trauma sensitive environment.

Required standard minimum qualification:

  • Candidates must have a valid WI Department of Public Instruction license

Special consideration will be given to the applicant with the following qualifications:

  • Plan instruction that meets student needs and curricular requirements.

  • Offer appropriate and engaging instruction that is student centered.

  • Knowledge of best practices in differentiating instruction.

  • Knowledge and Implementation of Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) into classroom instruction.

  • Assess student work to support growth.

  • Provide a safe and secure learning environment.

  • Demonstrate professionalism and an ability to communicate effectively.

  • Willingness to collaborate with others on curriculum, assessment and instruction.

  • Have a growth mindset and the willingness to be a lifelong learner.

  • Have a background in understanding data to support building level systems such as RTI and PBIS.

  • Participates in all required training, at both a school and district level.

  • Completes additional duties, as assigned by the principal, to meet requirements of federal guidelines.
