Long-term substitute teacher: Cross Categorical Special Education Teacher

The School District of Reedsburg is looking for a long-term substitute teacher for Students with Special Needs. Prairie Ridge has a dedicated and collaborative staff serving students in grades 3-5. Prairie Ridge resides in a beautiful new facility. We are seeking a special education teacher that can work collaboratively with staff towards increasing inclusive practices for students with disabilities.

Teaching students with disabilities includes being responsible for providing direct instruction to students while maintaining an environment conducive to learning. Provide educational services to students in accordance with their Individual Education Plan (IEP). Use Instructional strategies to teach social skills and problem solving. Implement strategies for assessing student pre-academic and developmental skills. Provide input towards the development and implement student behavior plans. Oversee and schedule paraprofessionals. Consult with teachers and therapists to plan for student needs and supports. Maintain accurate student records. Complete and submit IEP forms and other required reports within expected time frames. Communicate regularly with parents regarding progress towards goals and other educational successes or concerns. Maintain rights to privacy, demonstrate confidentiality, and respect for differences. The school district is in the process of developing and implementing a plan for increasing inclusive practices for students with disabilities at all levels. The distrcit is committed to inclusive practices and co-teaching classrooms.
