Indy West Christian School is seeking a mature Christian individual to fill a Long-Term Substitute Teacher position in Kindergarten. The ideal candidate has prior teaching experience, a passion for working with young learners, the ability to lead and instruct children, collaborate with a team, and create a positive, Christ-centered classroom environment.This position offers a unique opportunity to impact students academically, socially, and spiritually while supporting the mission of Christian education.Professional Qualifications:A valid Indiana Substitute Teacher Permit.Bachelor's degree, preferably in Education.Previous teaching experience.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.The ability to lead and instruct students effectively.Flexibility, patience, critical thinking, and adaptability.A commitment to excellence in Christian education.Spiritual and Personal Qualifications:Have and maintain a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.Support and uphold the school's Statement of Faith.Demonstrate Christian character through attitude, speech, and actions.Live consistently with the school's Lifestyle Statement.Exhibit spiritual maturity and integrity.Maintain a clear Christian testimony.Be an active member of an evangelical church.Maintain appropriate confidentiality.Position Responsibilities:Develop and implement lesson plans consistent with the regular teacher's curriculum and classroom objectives.Create a positive classroom atmosphere that fosters academic growth and student engagement.Manage classroom behavior and maintain school-wide expectations.Adapt instructional methods to meet the needs of individual students.Communicate regularly with students, parents, and school administration.Maintain accurate grades and attendance records.Keep the classroom organized, attractive, and conducive to learning.Supervise students during non-instructional duties such as recess, lunch, and car line.Attend faculty meetings, staff development opportunities, parent meetings, and other required school events.Collaborate effectively with administrators, faculty, and staff.Follow the Matthew 18 principle in relationships and conflict resolution.
