Parkview School District is seeking an enthusiastic and student-centered Long-Term Junior High English Language Arts Substitute Teacher for the beginning of the 2026-2027 school year.
This position provides an opportunity to inspire students through reading, writing, discussion, and critical thinking while maintaining continuity of instruction during a teacher leave. We are looking for someone who builds positive relationships, creates engaging learning experiences, and helps students grow as confident learners.
Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging English Language Arts instruction using district curriculum and lesson plans.
- Foster a classroom environment that encourages curiosity, collaboration, and student growth.
- Support students in developing strong reading, writing, speaking, and critical thinking skills.
- Monitor student learning and provide meaningful feedback.
- Maintain effective classroom management and a positive learning environment.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure continuity of instruction.
- Communicate effectively with students, families, and administrators.
- Maintain accurate attendance and grade records.
- Perform other professional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
- Holds or is eligible to obtain a Wisconsin Long-Term Substitute License.
- Bachelor''s degree from an accredited institution.
- Strong communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
Preferred
- Wisconsin DPI English Language Arts teaching license or equivalent licensure.
- Previous experience teaching middle school English Language Arts.
- Experience using instructional technology and student information systems.
