Job Responsibilities

• Create a classroom environment that reflects and promotes the mission of the School District of Athens

• Provides explicit instruction aligned with grade level standards

• Collaboration and plan with grade level and special education team and specialists to develop a positive learning environment for all students

• Collaborate and communicate effectively with parents

• Demonstrated ability to differentiate instruction

• Assess and monitor individual student growth and promoting social emotional development

• Incorporate technology in the classroom to enhance the learning experience

• Ability to use assessments and data in planning and guide instruction

• Provide systematic and explicit science-based early literacy instruction in both universal and intervention settings

• Support and follow School Board policies and procedures

• Other duties as assigned

Skills and Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in applicable discipline

• Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction Teaching License #1777 or #1088

• Recommended training and certification in the science of reading

• Demonstrate professionalism and confidentiality

• Flexible, creative, organized, have a sense of humor, and model a positive growth mindset

• Value relationships with students, parents, colleagues, and community members
