Enfield Public Schools is seeking a qualified and enthusiastic Long-Term Substitute Visual Arts Educator for Enfield High School. This position is expected to begin in mid-October 2026 and continue through January 2027.

Position Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

• Provide instruction in visual arts courses in accordance with district curriculum and state standards.
• Develop and deliver engaging lessons that foster creativity, artistic expression, and skill development.
• Create a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment.
• Assess student progress and maintain accurate records of student performance.
• Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, students, and families to support student success.
• Maintain classroom routines, expectations, and effective classroom management practices.
• Supervise students and fulfill all professional responsibilities associated with the assignment.

Qualifications

• Connecticut certification in Art preferred.
• Candidates eligible for a long-term substitute authorization will be considered.
• Demonstrated knowledge of visual arts instruction and effective classroom practices.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to creating an equitable and engaging learning environment for all students.

Compensation

Compensation will be in accordance with the Enfield Public Schools long-term substitute pay schedule. This will be at a per-diem daily rate dependent upon credentials.
