Client is seeking an experienced professional to join our Design, Engineering, and Construction (DEC) team as a Site Loss Control Specialist - Construction Safety. The Site Loss Control Specialist should exhibit experience in providing guidance on complex construction activities related to safety, insurance, regulatory agency compliance and risk management. The Site Loss Control Specialist will be a vital component in ensuring the success of the Owner Controlled Insurance Program (OCIP).

Skillsets/Qualifications
  • Experience in design and construction industry, including knowledge of fast-track design-build process and associated documents and contracts
  • Industry experience to understand the design and deployment of technical electrical and mechanical systems as related to data center construction processes
  • Experience with retrofit projects in live mission-critical environments or occupied spaces
  • Experience working with large scale jobs within the mission critical environment
  • 5+ years of construction experience in a dedicated safety role
  • Experience with ground-up construction and greenfield site development requirements
  • Experience with the implementation of Environmental Health & Safety enhancement programs
  • Experience partnering with team members and contractors
  • Experience working within an OCIP environment Job description

Responsibilities
  • Perform risk assessments for all construction-related tasks.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with project teams and trade partners to promote a zero-incident work environment.
  • Provide guidance on implementing effective construction safety methodologies on site.
  • Facilitate incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action reporting.
  • Collaborate with the loss control team to ensure safety deliverables and job functions meet required standards.
  • Participate in and support on-site safety training initiatives.
  • Build cross-functional partnerships to strengthen safety performance and collaboration.
  • Integrate with construction activities to support best-in-class safety performance.
  • Effectively support projects operating within an Owner Controlled Insurance Program (OCIP) environment.
  • Travel to project sites as needed to provide on-site safety support.

Must-Have Qualifications
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in a dedicated construction safety role.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA 1926 construction standards.
  • Experience performing construction risk assessments and incident investigations.
  • Experience with ground-up construction and greenfield site development.
  • Knowledge of fast-track design-build construction processes.
  • Experience working with technical electrical and mechanical systems in construction environments.
  • Experience supporting Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) programs.
  • Experience partnering with contractors and cross-functional project teams.
  • Experience working within an Owner Controlled Insurance Program (OCIP) environment.
  • OSHA 500 certification.
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) certification through BCSP.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field.
  • Experience supporting data center or mission-critical construction projects.
  • Experience with retrofit projects in live or occupied environments.
  • Previous experience working on large-scale construction projects.
  • Prior experience supporting similar large-scale construction programs.
  • Strong communication, conflict resolution, and relationship-building skills.
  • Self-starter with a coachable, action-oriented, and flexible mindset.
