Site Loss Control Specialist – Construction Safety (Data Center Construction)

Description:
 
Summary
 

• Lead construction safety and loss control activities for data center projects in New Albany, OH.
• Ensure compliance with insurance (OCIP), EHS regulations, and construction safety standards across large-scale projects.
• Perform site inspections, risk assessments, incident investigations, and safety reporting.
• Partner with contractors, project teams, and cross-functional stakeholders to drive a zero-incident safety culture.
• Analyze safety metrics (such as TCIR) to identify trends and improve jobsite performance.
• Support complex ground-up and mission-critical data center construction environments.

 
Must-Have Skills
 

• 7+ years of construction safety experience in a dedicated safety role.
• Experience working within an Owner Controlled Insurance Program (OCIP) environment.
• Insurance and claims management, including working with insurance partners.
• Construction risk assessments and incident investigations/root cause analysis.
• Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) program implementation.
• Data analytics using safety metrics (e.g., TCIR and incident trend analysis).
• Experience supporting large construction sites (2,000+ workers) with strong onsite field presence.
• Ground-up construction experience.
• Knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems related to data center construction.
• Experience partnering with contractors and cross-functional teams.
• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety (or related field).
• CSP or CHST certification.
• OSHA 500 certification.

 
Nice-to-Have Skills
 

• Data center construction experience (strongly preferred).
• Experience in airports, oil & gas, or pharmaceutical construction environments.
• Experience with major general contractors such as DPR, Turner, or Holder.
• Experience working in occupied/live mission-critical facilities.
• Experience navigating cross-functional relationships with facility owners and stakeholders.
• Ability to travel up to 30% within the state as needed.
