The Loss Mitigation Underwriter plays a key role in the initial review of a loss mitigation application. This position is responsible for preparing loan for underwriting evaluation of temporary loss mitigation solutions, providing notification to the borrower of evaluation results, and documenting system of record. The specialist ensures compliance with investor, regulatory, and company guidelines while providing high-quality customer service.

Must-Have Qualifications:• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree preferred.• 2+ years in mortgage servicing, loss mitigation, collections, or related financial services.• Experience with investor guidelines (FHA, VA, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac) strongly preferred.• Strong understanding of mortgage delinquency, loss mitigation, and foreclosure prevention practices.• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.• Proficient in mortgage servicing software (e.g., MSP, Black Knight) and Microsoft Office Suite.• Ability to work under pressure and meet regulatory deadlines.• Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus.
