The Coordinator, Loss Prevention provides administrative and operational support to the facility loss prevention function, including audits, reporting, camera system upkeep, and investigation support. This role serves as an entry point into the loss prevention career path and works under the direct guidance of the Supervisor.
Essential Duties
Asset Protection & Theft Prevention
Assist in asset identification, tagging, numbering, and tracking standards to provide clear accountability for assets throughout their lifecycle.
Assist in conducting periodic physical inventories and asset verification audits across facilities, reconciling physical assets to financial and operational records.
Identify and investigate missing, unaccounted-for, damaged, misappropriated, or improperly utilized Company assets and coordinate corrective action.
Assist in implementing controls to reduce asset loss, theft, unauthorized use, damage, and premature replacement.
Ensure and oversee accountability for employees, departments, and locations responsible for Company assets, including appropriate sign-out, assignment, and transfer procedures.
Assist in reconciling physical asset inventories with the Company's fixed asset register and ensure discrepancies are identified and resolved.
Work collaboratively to ensure minimum security and physical protection requirements for high-value and high-risk assets, including access controls, surveillance, storage, identification, and other loss-prevention measures.
Assist with documentation and evidence gathering for investigations.
Monitor CCTV footage and flag suspicious activity to the Supervisor.
Maintain investigation case files and activity logs.
Support interviews and statement-taking under Supervisor guidance.
Inventory & Material Control
Record and report inventory variances to the Supervisor.
Support material handling documentation, including chain-of-custody logs.
Assist with reconciling inventory records.
Security, Security Systems & Facility Controls
Perform daily checks of CCTV, access control, and alarm systems.
Report equipment issues or coverage gaps to the Supervisor.
Work with security to maintain access control records, including badge and visitor logs.
Support basic system administration, such as user access updates, under supervision.
Policy, Training & Compliance
Support the rollout of loss prevention training materials.
Track and file compliance documentation.
Assist with preparing security and loss prevention orientation materials for new hires.
Collaboration & Reporting
Prepare routine reports on shrink, incidents, and audits for the Supervisor and Manager.
Maintain KPI tracking spreadsheets and dashboards.
Communicate with Operations and HR on administrative loss prevention matters.
Position Requirements
Education: High school diploma or GED required
Experience:
1-3 years in an administrative, security, retail loss prevention, or related support role.
Skills & Abilities:
Strong attention to detail.
Basic computer proficiency, including spreadsheets.
Familiarity with CCTV and access control systems a plus.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Organized, reliable, and able to manage routine administrative tasks independently.
Willingness to learn investigative fundamentals.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and walk in production environments for periods of time.
Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. as needed.
Ability to sit for extended periods when reviewing video footage or preparing reports.
