    About the Position:

    The Virginia State Police (VSP) is seeking to hire a Lot Attendant in our Communications Division at State Police Headquarters in North Chesterfield, Virginia. The job duties for this position include but are not limited to:

    • Supporting the operations of the Installation Facility by performing entry level responsibilities in the inspection of a variety of pre-delivery inspection checks to include mechanical and electronic vehicle components.
    • Shuffling, delivering and staging vehicles.
    • Assisting with the cleanliness of the shop floor and identifying potential safety hazards.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Knowledge:

    • Knowledge of electrical/electronic/automative vocation.

    Skills:

    • Skill in operating computers.

    Abilities:

    • Ability to safely use shop mechanics hand and air tools, and advanced electronic and computerized diagnostic equipment.
    • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a member of a team to accomplish Division goals.
    • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of personnel and customers.
    • Demonstrated ability communicate effectively orally and in writing ln English.
    • Demonstrated ability to follow written and verbal directions.
    • Demonstrated ability to complete program specific documentation.
    • Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures, and state/federal laws and regulations.
    • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple assignments and prioritize workload to meet established deadlines.
    • Experience in the electrical/electronic/automotive vocation is required.
    • Motor vehicle operator’s license required.
    • Graduation from high school or equivalent.
