Position Overview
Stand-By Personnel is seeking a dependable Louver Helper to join a manufacturing and fabrication operation in Claremore. This position assists with the assembly, fabrication, and testing of industrial louver systems used in air-cooled heat exchangers.
This is an excellent entry-level shop opportunity for candidates with basic mechanical aptitude and experience using hand or pneumatic tools. The Louver Helper will assemble blades, frames, linkage components, and actuator mechanisms while helping ensure completed louver assemblies operate smoothly and meet production specifications.
Required Experience & Skills
6+ months of general labor, assembly, or manufacturing shop experience preferred
Basic mechanical aptitude
Experience using basic hand tools preferred
Familiarity with pneumatic tools such as rivet guns, air drills, and impact drivers
Ability to accurately read and use a tape measure
Ability to follow shop instructions and basic production drawings
Strong attention to detail and assembly quality
Willingness to learn new manufacturing and fabrication processes
Dependable attendance and punctuality
Ability to work independently and as part of a production team
Strong commitment to workplace safety
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Assist with the assembly of industrial louver systems
Position and align louver blades according to production requirements
Assemble frames, linkage rods, and related components
Install and assist with actuator mechanisms
Use rivet guns to secure components
Operate drills, impact drivers, and other basic hand or pneumatic tools
Measure components before and during assembly
Prepare aluminum and steel parts for assembly
Deburr and clean sheet metal components
Verify proper fit and alignment of assembled components
Assist with functional testing of completed louver systems
Prepare finished assemblies for painting and final production
Move and stage materials throughout the work area
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workstation
Perform additional assembly and production duties as assigned
Louver Assembly Responsibilities
Candidates may work with:
Louver blades
Metal frames
Linkage rods
Actuator mechanisms
Aluminum components
Steel components
Sheet metal parts
Fasteners and hardware
Assemblies must be properly aligned so louver blades can open and close smoothly and consistently.
Tools & Equipment
Candidates may regularly use:
Pop rivet guns
Pneumatic rivet tools
Air drills
Impact drivers
Tape measures
Basic hand tools
Deburring tools
Other shop and assembly equipment
Previous experience with these tools is helpful, but candidates with strong mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn may also be considered.
Material Preparation
Measure aluminum and steel components
Clean parts before assembly
Remove burrs and sharp edges
Prepare sheet metal components for installation
Verify materials are ready for assembly
Identify visibly damaged or incorrect components
Maintain organized parts and materials throughout production
Quality & Fit-Up Responsibilities
Assist with checking completed assemblies against shop requirements
Verify blades and frames are properly aligned
Test louver opening and closing movement
Ensure linkage systems move smoothly
Identify binding, misalignment, or other assembly concerns
Review basic shop blueprints and specifications as required
Report quality concerns before assemblies move to painting or final production
Material Handling
Depending on training and authorization, associates may use or assist with:
Overhead hoists
Overhead cranes
Pallet jacks
Other material-handling equipment
These systems may be used to move large louver frames, blades, and completed assemblies between production areas and paint booths.

Previous manufacturing assembly experience
Mechanical assembly experience
Sheet metal experience
General fabrication experience
Pneumatic tool experience
Rivet gun experience
Basic blueprint-reading experience
Overhead crane or hoist experience
Air-cooled heat exchanger manufacturing experience
Experience working in an industrial fabrication shop
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs
Ability to stand and remain physically active throughout 10-hour shifts
Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling
Repetitive hand, wrist, and upper-body movements
Manual dexterity required for assembly and tool operation
Ability to safely handle metal components and assemblies
Comfortable performing repetitive production work throughout the shift
Ability to safely wear all required PPE
Required PPE & Safety
Candidates must follow all shop safety requirements, including use of:
Steel-toe boots
Safety glasses
Hearing protection
Additional PPE as required
Work Environment
Industrial manufacturing and fabrication shop
Regular work around aluminum and steel components, pneumatic tools, cranes, hoists, and production equipment
Hands-on assembly position involving frequent measuring, fastening, material preparation, and fit-up
Production of louver systems for air-cooled heat exchangers
Stable MondayFriday | 6:00 AM 4:30 PM schedule
