VIP Systems is a South Florida Low Voltage integrator specializing in complex technology infrastructure (cabling, security, and access control) for luxury high-rise developments.
Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented CAD Drafter to translate complex system designs into precise technical drawings, collaborating with our engineering and project management teams to produce the floor plans, riser diagrams, and rack elevations that serve as blueprints for our field installations.
Core Responsibilities
- Technical Drafting: Create and modify detailed AutoCAD drawings for structured cabling, CCTV, access control.
- System Documentation: Develop comprehensive riser diagrams, typical mounting details, and head-end rack elevations.
- Plan Management: Manage and organize drawing sets, ensuring all revisions are tracked and the most current architectural backgrounds are being utilized.
- As-Built Integration: Process field redlines from our Lead Technicians to create final "As-Built" packages for client turnover and municipal permitting.
- Standardization: Maintain and improve the VIP Systems CAD library (blocks, templates, and layers) to ensure brand consistency across all submittals.
Requirements
- Experience: 2+ years of professional drafting experience, specifically within the MEP, electrical, or low-voltage trades.
- Software Proficiency: Expert-level knowledge of AutoCAD. Experience with Revit (BIM) or Bluebeam Revu is highly desirable.
- Technical Knowledge: A solid understanding of low-voltage symbols, construction scales, and architectural layering.
- Communication:Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred.
